The Luxcut T400VS is a single phase lathe featuring a generous 52mm spindle bore, making it a standout in the single phase lathe class. To achieve this performance on a single-phase supply, it uses a 3hp three-phase motor, eliminating the common limitations associated with single-phase motors and capacitor systems. Power is delivered via a variable speed inverter, which converts a 230V single-phase 15A power supply into DC, then outputs smooth three-phase power to the motor. This setup not only ensures reliable torque and efficiency but also allows for variable speed control through a potentiometer and digital RPM display, paired with a simple and smooth two-speed headstock design.
