About this machine.
The Microweily TY series of manual lathes is New Zealands benchmark for quality lathes. They are produced by one of the original Taiwanese machine tool companies, with a history of over 50 years in manufacturing both CNC and high-speed precision conventional lathes. The TY-1845S is one of our most popular sellers, suited to a wide range of general turning applications. It has a marginally larger footprint than the TY-1640S but offers a significantly larger swing, a bigger spindle bore, a 7.5 HP motor, a longer distance between centres, and the same type of heavy-duty solid casting. This means you get a similar light, precision feel to the smaller lathe, but with greater size and strength overall. This lathe offers a substantial step up in features without a significant increase in cost.

- Bedways and cross slide are induction hardened to HRC 52 and precision ground.
- The slide ways between the saddle and bed are Turcite B coated reducing the friction resistance, providing smoother feel and a more effortless machine operation experience.
