The TY-1640S is one of our most popular sellers, suiting a large number of general turning applications. It has a small footprint but offers all the benefits of a heavy-duty solid casting, features typically associated with larger machines. This means you get a light, precision feel that is hard to achieve on bigger lathes, along with quality operation and an excellent finish.

- Heavy duty one-piece Meehanite cast base for superior vibration dampening and good resistance to wear.
- Bedways and cross slide are induction hardened to HRC 52 and precision ground.
- The slide ways between the saddle and bed are Turcite B coated reducing the friction resistance, providing smoother feel and a more effortless machine operation experience.
- Fully enclosed 12-speed headstock
- Hardened and precision ground headstock gears.
- Precision spindle with 3 precision taper roller spindle bearings to achieve maximum accuracy.
